The issue of Iraq
Unfortunately, we gave up the option to leave Iraq the moment we decided to remove Saddam Hussein from power. Like Yugoslavia's Josip Broz Tito, Saddam was a strong dictator who was able to keep the warring factions of the Sunnis and the Shiites from civil war. The Lack Of Action from Congress This past week has seen the petty bickering of Congress descend to new depths. The first statement came when the newly elected majority broke its first promise. They had promised that in the first 100 hours, the Democrats would increase the work week from four days to five. Monday of the first full week with the new Congress saw this promise broken due to a college football game! I guess if there was anything more important going on, in the world, besides the Ethiopian invasion of Somalia, or the current issues regarding Iran’s role in the Iraqi civil unrest, maybe the Democrats would have thought something serious needed to be done, and maybe they would have had one of their taxpayer funded staff assistants record the game on DVR. The Second problem was one of the the most pathetic displays I have ever seen out of DC. On one hand, we have a president stating that he will send in more troops... Never mind how ludicrous the number 20,000 is with regard to what is needed in Iraq. Which, if he were being real and honest about the NEEDS in Iraq, he would have DOUBLED the force there... 20,000 troops can't even come close to patrolling the border with Iran, across which the Iranian army is delivering troops, arms, supplies, and money to the Shiites, thus escalating the Sectarian Violence. Throwing 2o, ooo troops at that fire would be the equivalent of using a piece of gum to dam up the Potomac River! Now, if we were to use all of the troops to concentrate on blocking up the Iranian border, we would actually be leaving the border with Syria wide open! It is an absurd number and should be opposed by anyone with any sense at all... However, we do not see people with sense in opposition. Instead, we have Republicans all over the Hill saying what a great Commander-in-Chief George W Bush is... While Republicans are praising the plan, we see the Democrats, now in charge of both sides of congress, offering to have symbolic votes against this sort of action... What does that mean, exactly? It means that they, in the end, will go along with it, but they want to appear to be against it before voting for it. Democrats, who have won both houses, and COULD actually take control of any situation legislatively, seem unwilling to stand up for a specific belief. Rather, they are sitting as of to suggest: “Well? What did you expect from us? Would you actually consider the alternative? We think not! Ladies and Gentlemen, Both houses of Congress and both “PARTIES” in Congress have demonstrated themselves to be an irrelevant waste of money.. I suggest we pull funding from the current body, and replace it with a new one that has the courage to stand up, make a decision, AND STAND BEHIND IT!!! |

The Fairness Doctrine
Ms. Feinstein, recently, stated that she did not like that Talk Radio had the influence that it currently has, and she also stated that she was in favor of doing something about that influence. legislatively. How is it possible that anyone elected to the Congress of the United States be so completely ignorant of the Constitution they all swore to defend? Below is the amendment in question. _____________________________ First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. _____________________________ The fairness doctrine is an outright assault on the First Amendment because it does exactly the opposite of what the amendment states. It abridges the freedom of speech, and the right of the people to peaceably assemble. You, Ms Feinstein, along with your fellow members of Congress swore to defend the constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic... You did not swear to BECOME an enemy of the Constitution. I request that those in our nation's legislative body, with the intent to destroy more of our freedom, readjust their thinking. |

Intellectuals vs The Founders Some people have managed to draw conclusions about Our Nation's Founders' intentions that are simply wrong. These people, when asked, were UNABLE to answer why it took as longas it did for the states to ratify the Constitution of the United States I attempted to explain it, US History tried to explain it, but to some people, facts and truth are meaningless. In short, it took a great deal of time, because our Founders were terrified of the prospect that someone would read something that was not there, IF they spelled out our "God given" rights, in the Constitution. Imagine our founders being concerned that politicians would try to take our rights! Spelled out in our Declaration of Independence, (Link here,to read it) are the issues that forced them to leave England, forging a new nation. The founders were a group of people who were so confident in the knowledge that if they included The Bill of Rights, politicians would try to take rights away from the citizens, that they were reluctant to spell them out on paper! Would CNN call these people "Visionary?" Probably not. Would they be called "paranoid?" Most definitely! Our society, today, does not seem to want freedom. Why do I say this? Because if they did, there would be more outrage as congress takes that which the CREATOR endowed us with!Some have seen a way out of this... Decent, Law Abiding Citizens, and this means ANYONE who would obey the law, need to START patrolling their neighborhoods. We, as citizens, need to look out for each other, because our police force can only do so much. Freedom IS NOT FREE, It requires work and vigilance. Our government has been taking on this work and allowing us to believe it is being vigilant. However, our government is lying to us! We have elected officials who SWORE to defend the Constitution, actually working hard to destroy that which they swore to defend! To further their cause, they have limited our right to free speech, and they have been attacking our right to bear arms / self defense. Alexander Hamilton, in "The Federalist" wrote: Truer words were not spoken. When We, THE PEOPLE, start taking our streets back, start educating our children, and stop allowing big government to get away with STEALING our rights, we will have a government afraid of the people, not people afraid of government! It amazes me to read articles like this one from Lew Rockwell... It
amazes me because the author really does strike me as intelligent.. I
have to wonder what it was that he expected to happen.. Change?? From a
Republican or a Democrat? PLEASE!
Lest we forget, please read what our Congressional "leaders" signed, when they authorized George W Bush to go around the Constitution and declare war. Read it
HERE HJ-114. We, as taxpayers, as voters, as citizens, need to understand what happened. Congress lacked the spine
to make a decision yes or no in a formal Declaration of War, so they allowed George Bush to do it. If Congress can not do its job, then Congress is no longer useful to the citizens it is supposed to represent. |
